Arriving in Ethiopia . . . Ethiopia Round 3, Day 3

Sunrise at 30,000 feet in the air is amazing!  We fly into Ethiopia just as the sun is coming up there.  What a breathtaking view.  The picture is nice, but honestly doesn't do it justice!

The landing was good and then it was time to wait for all those people to exit the plane.  We exit the airplane by staircase.  It's a great opportunity to peek at the amazing machinery that took us over an ocean.  Wow!

Baggage claim is crazy in any major airport.  Here's a view of the crazy baggage claim of Bole International Airport.  All of our luggage arrive safe and sound!

We arrived to a beautiful morning.  Sunshine and comfortable temps.  It's going to be a great day!

We were greeted by our good friend, Zebene.  And what a surprise . . . roses for me.  He is so gracious!  It is so good to see him!

We head to the guest house by taxi.  This isn't the taxi we rode in, but what most of the taxi vans look like.  They are everywhere in the city and make trips to the countryside as well.

We arrive at the guest house.  It's only about a 10 minute drive from the airport.  When we arrive they insist we have a cup of coffee.  Hmmmm . . . let me think . . . YES!  Ethiopian coffee is truly the best coffee in the world!  After coffee it's time to catch up with our friends at the guest house.  Wonderful conversation and time to hear what is new with them.  It is so good to see them!

The wonderful cook, Hiwot, made us some dinner. Tibs and injera!  The injera is the spongy bread like stuff on the left.  Tibs is on the right.  Tomatoes, peppers, onions and beef cooked together.  To eat it you tear off some of the injera and scoop up the tibs.  A wonderful meal!

We are lucky to stay in a very nice guest house.  The building is nice and the people are amazing.  This is the living area.  Comfy couches, TV and WiFi.

Here is the other side of the room with the dining area.  If you are ever in Addis Ababa I highly recommend Grace Guest House for your stay!
