A day to relax . . . Ethiopia Round 3, Day 5

We had a very relaxing day at the guest house today.  This morning was games in the living room.  I'm so glad some of the church kids suggested we bring Jenga!  It's been a big hit!  "M^" and I painted nails.  Kevin chose not to participate in that activity :)  "M^" and I also worked on some of her "school books."  I hope our local school is prepared for her!  This girl is READY to learn.  We sat and went through 56 pages of her phonics book and 25 pages of her math book.  Yeah, I'm a proud parent!

Our friend (and guest house owner) Zebene stopped by.  There was some wonderful conversation.  He was gracious enough to do a lot of translating for us.  "M^" was able to ask us a lot of questions about her family and home.  We were able to hear her thoughts on many things as well.  We let "M^" order our lunch.  We had a beef wat (stew) with injera.  Very good!  Everything we eat at the guest house is very good.

Continuing on your tour of the guest house . . . here are two views outside our room's window.

Here is the view from the front 2nd story balcony.

There is a courtyard area in the front of the guest house.  It has both a grassy area and a paved place for cars (or a small soccer game)!

We decided we should take a walk for dinner tonight.

The local pizza place we intended to visit was closed.  So walking to the Nexus hotel had to substitute for the pizza "M^" wanted.

We had a wonderful dinner with wonderful and friendly servers.

After dinner another round of Jenga with our friends from the guest house.  It was a good night!

And the day can't end without our Amharic lesson . . .

Dog - osha
Goat - airie
Green - arrongati
Black - dueggart
Toilet - shintebet

From the smile on "M^"s face, I think she really likes giggling at me and my attempt to learn some Amharic!
