Another step closer . . . Ethiopia Round 3, Day 12

I am getting spoiled!  It was another morning to sleep in a little!  After breakfast Kevin and "M^" went shopping with our friend Zebene.  Since I wasn't feeling the best, I stayed at the guest house.  While they were shopping they found some more advanced school books for "M^" and a Bible in Oromifa.  Sucessful shopping trip!

Back at the guest house we hung out while Josiah washed his dad's car.

We watched the neighborhood donkeys have their afternoon snack.

Mid afternoon we had a great surprise!  It was passport time for "M^"!  We weren't expecting it until Monday, but we got an appointment for today!  Kevin, "M^", our in country representative and I headed down to the Ethiopian immigration office.  It is always intimidating to go into the government offices.   There are bag checks and metal detectors.  Kevin didn't get to go in with us.  I was handed the receipt for the passport so I was the only one to accompany "M^".  We had her picture made and her paperwork turned in.  We're hoping that we'll be able to pick her Ethiopian passport up on Wednesday.  We'll see!  We're on track though.

This evening another adopting family and us went out to dinner at the Jupiter Hotel.  It was an nice time with great conversation!  A great day!

Language lesson for today . . .

Oromifa and Amharic . . .
Shoes - chama
Boots - Booty
Door - Burr (not to be confused with Birr which is Ethiopian currency)
Zebenah - rain (not to be confused with Zebene, our friend's name)
