Shopping in the Rain . . . Ethiopia Round 3, Day 15

This morning our friends had court this morning (or so we all thought).  Kevin and I were privileged enough to watch their little sweetie!  Lots of chasing balls out in the courtyard.  Our friends returned and we learned that court is actually tomorrow!  That's okay, it means we get to watch their little one again!

We decided to go out to lunch at Loyal Restaurant.  We learned about more Ethiopian food from "M^"!  I can't pronounce the name now though :)

After lunch we went shopping in the Post Office area.  It started raining.  The crowds thin out significantly when it rains.  I haggled for some good deals!

We returned back to the guest house and were very excited to see our friend (Nanny) Hiwot again!  She is starting up a cultural shop and selling a variety of things.  These are some of the items she showed us today.  If anyone one happens to be interested I can get you in contact with her.  The opals are directly from here in Ethiopia and it's all handmade!

It was an easy going evening for us.  We walked together with other family down to the Nexus for dinner.   Buffet night!  Lots of veggies and different styles of meats to try!  The best part though came at the end of our dinner.  There was a wedding happening in the hotel that night.  There were photographers and lots of people dressed in cultural garb.  The crowd grew as the wedding party arrived.  We heard the people erupt in song as the bride and groom exited their vehicle.  The smooth mellow sounds of their voices rose and filled the hotel lobby.  It was a joyous occasion for all the family and friends present.  The bride and groom made their way up the stairs to the 3rd floor.  The crowd slowly followed clapping and chanting together.  It was a beautiful sound of celebration!

After dinner we walked back to the guest house for the evening.  While we're checking email and writing blogs "M^" was invited to watch a movie with Josiah!  Nothing like karate movies on your phone!
