After we returned I had the privilege of fixing "M^"s hair for the first time! She was very patient with me and I think it turned out fairly good for the first time.
While we were doing hair Kevin took to talking with people as they passed by the guest house. He meet two children and of course had some candy to share with them. There was also a man walking his cattle. Kevin can find anyone to strike up conversation with.
A few more of the sights around . . .
Every house or building is in kind of a compound. The compound is marked with walls. Often on top of the walls there is barbed wire or shards of glass for security.
Nut ababa. "M^" told me that's what these were. White flowers in guest house garden area.
After lunch we played games and watched television. Ethiopia idol was on! Yes, they embarrass people just like the American version
"M^" beat us twice at the game, Trouble. In case you're wondering . . . no, we did not let her win. She is ruthless at that game :)
It was a very rainy day today. Clouds were in the sky all afternoon and evening.
We had a fun afternoon hanging out inside though. We played many more games and looked at pictures on the computer. "M^" played with my camera. "Selfies" have no language barrier! :)
It was a good day just hanging out with our sweet girl. Tomorrow there are big plans though!
Language lesson for the day! Because "M^"s primary language is Oromifa, we have to learn things in both languages. So here it goes . . .
Oromifa:
banana - moose
dog - sari
Amharic:
flower - ahbaba
