Breakfast this morning was Ethiopian donuts and coffee :)
We passed the morning with writing postcards, "M^" working on school work and watching the rain come in.
After lunch we all napped. Nothing like snuggling under some blankets and sleeping while the thunder and rain roll through the area. Late afternoon we headed out. First it was fancy coffee at a fancy coffee shop in downtown Addis.
Then we headed to the cinema. We watched a movie (all in Amharic). It was "M^"s first time at a movie theater and I think she really liked it. The movie was good. Kevin and I sort of followed the plot of the show. There was love, drugs, a stabbing, cheating, a proposal, etc. The most unusual part was that apparently there was funny dialog during some, what seemed like, serious scenes. It was a good lesson for us in what "M^" will experience upon arriving in the US.
After the movie we went to dinner at the Harmony Hotel. Super fancy. It was a good dinner with wonderful service.
After we ate we went back down to the ground floor of the hotel. They had an art gallery up of local painters. Very amazing art! It was really neat looking at the city through the eyes of an Ethiopian artist. We then headed back to the guest house. We were all tired and so we've settled in. Of course there is some late night game playing on the tablet too!
