A day of worship . . . Round 3, Day 7

This morning was worship.  We were blessed to worship with the Body of Christ at Emmanuel Baptist Church of Addis Ababa.  What a spirit filled experience.  The church is situated in the home compound of an area Christian.  It is small, but the Holy Spirit is present in a big way.  I sat next to an older man that cried Hallelujah with the most exuberance I have ever seen.  An older lady danced in praise in front of us.  Her head bobbed up and down she swished her orange shawl in worship of our Lord.  Even though the service was in Amharic, our dear friend, Zebene, translated for us.  Basically the preacher talked about having a personal relationship with God.  Many know God.  However, we are called to KNOW God as our creator, savior, and sustainer.  Amen.

After worship we were invited to a special dinner at the house of Zebene and Hiwot.  What an extraordinary honor.  They had prepared a traditional meal of tibs (beef strips) and doro wat (chicken stew).  Being served doro wat in Ethiopia is considered a great honor.  We are so very honored and humbled by our dear friends!

After lunch we took a walk around their neighborhood.  They live close to the airport on the edge of Addis Ababa.   As we walked we rounded a corner and a woman came out of a home and greeted Zebene.  At first we didn't see who it was.  As she turned we realize it was one of the wonderful women from the transition house.  She had worked at the home that took care of "T" and "M^".  We did not expect to see her again since the transition house closed.  What a gift from God.  I think I hugged her no less than 20 times!  Her smile is contagious and she exudes joy!  What a blessing to see her again!

We headed back to our friend's home to bid farewell for the day.  We were headed back to the guest house.

Our gracious friends!

3 of our friends' awesome children

At the guest house we spent some time having fun with our friend Nati.

Our friends Nati and Latera!

"M^" and I did some more school work!  Such a smart young lady!

Nati, "M^", Kevin, and I went out to dinner with 2 other guests at the guest house.  We intended to go our for Mexican food, however we ended up at a hotel restaurant.   The food was very good.  "M^" and Nati had traditional Ethiopian dishes . . . kitfo leb leb (very lightly cooked seasoned ground beef).  I'm glad they enjoyed it!!!

Language lesson . . . I feel like a slacker on my vocabulary for tonight.  I haven't learned too many new words today!
