We had a whole list of things that we hoped to do today. However, many businesses would be closed. It is the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha celebrating Abraham's faithfulness to God.
One of the many things I find beautiful about Ethiopia is how they observe both Christian and Muslim holidays. In fact, our friends told us that they are often invited to their Muslim friend's homes for celebration. They return the invite to them for Christian holidays. Because of the holiday, we were not able to go forward with our original plans. However, all worked out well.
We purchased the needed items. Then it was lunch at MLK Restaurant. Good food and a nice tribute to MLK. After our meal, we shopped at All Mart. You could slightly compare it to the Addis version of Walmart. They have a variety of all sorts of items and groceries. This round it was stocking up on Ethiopian snacks that Meskerem has been missing!
